Q. 1 STAGES
On a country scale. Initial infections and spreading begins. Increase in infections. Government planning and recommendations for limiting social interactions. State-wide enforcement of more limiting restrictions. Flattening of the curve. Gradual lifting of restrictions and increase in numbers infected. Reintroduction of restrictions. Over and back between lifting and imposing restrictions until widespread public vaccine release.
We are currently at state wide enforcement. China (ground zero) is at lift restrictions and increasing infections.
It's fairly bad, but the restrictions are necessary. A little worried. But I think it will be ok in the end (>1yr from now). -
Q. 2 EVERYDAY ROUTINE
I do not like working from home. I rather have a clear delineation between work and home. I still do a lot of the same things. It I'd just my office is now in my sitting room and meetings are online.
My daughter’s birthday party was limited to the house hold. With extended family video calling to sing happy birthday when we brought out the cake. It was weird having 4/5 other family virtually at the party via phones. -
Q. 3 GROUPS
Obvious differences for the elderly due to greater restrictions and higher risks. Similarly with sick people, cancer patients for example.
Different types of occupations have huge disparity in changes. Services (and others) completely out of work. Compared to myself (engineer) still doing a lot of the normal work, just inconvenienced.
A friend with cancer spoke about being worried about dying. A number of people worried about work, from various occupations, especially regarding the uncertainty. -
Q. 4 WAYS WE TALK
Hear people talk about the "new normal", that sounds a bit shit though.
I saw a picture of great sign in a tourist town referring to holiday makers that were ignoring the restrictions: "if you're not from here "FUCK OFF". -
Q. 5 COMMUNITY RESPONSE
Talking to the neighbours a little bit more, but from a distance -
