Q. 1 STAGES

Various stages during COVID19 until now: Fear, Confusion, Sense of Calm and then hope. Currently being very optimistic due to the research going around worldwide in beating this monster virus. This has actually unfolded many others such as fresher and cleaner earth, innovative ways of teaching and easily accessible online resources to learn and teach.

Q. 2 EVERYDAY ROUTINE

Walking is affected as I walk to work and back home and also to buy groceries. Otherwise, analysing data at home is more relaxing and comfortable. Lab work is affected. We are still having normal lab meetings. Other side of things: I get to spend more time with my family, participating in online course and dance lessons and also learning new software for work. Birthdays and gatherings just enjoying online ones for now.

Q. 3 GROUPS

My family in India which has 4 generations in one house is just hilarious. Youngest is bored and entertaining him is the hardest. His mother is currently doing work from home and she says it sucks as the broadband is very slow and that affects her work. The other two generations miss their social life which is meeting people and having a stroll to the nearest mall.

Q. 4 WAYS WE TALK

New Phrases: Virtual, Social distancing, Hand wash, Remote work. People say that this would be our distant future where going or travelling to work only when necessary. I have also heard people telling that this is like a healing for Earth and I completely agree. Earth is healing for the good. I have communicated with my friends remotely for just checking how they are and I noticed that in roads people move very far and then say "Hello'. Sometimes it’s difficult as I miss my Cork family. It’s always nice to get hugs and pulling each other’s legs in a party now and then.

Q. 5 COMMUNITY RESPONSE

Community response:
1. Shoppers for the vulnerable: wonderful initiative by two young ladies. I served as a volunteer to help their project. It made me happy and responsible citizen.
2. Community Support Groups, Indian Embassy: Part of this group to tackle Indian students’ issues (both financially and emotionally). Guiding them to take right decisions and counselling them for good mental health. It makes me more of a responsible human being and also I got to know many things via this initiative.
3. Things that annoy me: People sometimes party outside even after social distancing rules. "

Q. 6 THOUGHTS AND PREOCCUPATIONS

Dance online classes, engaging more with the community, Creative thoughts for my career, taking online courses.

Q. 7 SIMILARITY TO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

No Response.

Q. 8 CHALLENGES AND COPING

No Response.

Q. 9 THE FUTURE

People have understood the importance of hygiene and also have understood the importance of less travel or even travel to local stores by walk. This could also make people understand that health and community well-being of others and themselves is more important than anything else is in life.

Q. 10 IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT SPRINGS TO MIND?

Would be nice if there was an interactive session included like some quiz or something that can make this more engaging. Just a suggestion.

Q. 11 IN A NUTSHELL

As every coin has two sides: For me it has built my personality on a positive note but on the other side I miss family. My community: People have started thinking more creatively which is really good for the future.
