Finbar talks about his late brother in law Gus Healy and his involvement in the Cork Shakespearean Company AKA The Loft and also talks about Gus’s political career in Fianna Fail and his career as a TD and senator plus his two terms as Lord Mayor Of Cork. He speaks of a framed photo of Cork City Hall in 1896 which was presented to Gus by members of the Loft in 1975 upon beginning his second run as Lord Mayor and the fact that the back of the frame was signed by Loft Members

FMcG. Well, of course as most people who knew him, knew him as a Fianna Fail TD, senator and councillor, obviously. But also, then as lord mayor in 64, 65, and again in 1975, which was the occasion for The Loft members presenting this particular photograph to him. It's a photograph of the city hall as it was in 1896, I think. But that's, that's the background to him. He was…. married to my sister, Rita, and they lived in, in Montenotte area for many years before moving to Blackrock, shortly before he died. A character, there's no question about it. He was small of stature…… had some little bit of a, a disability, I suppose it would be referred to as today. But it was no disability to Gus. He was, as I said, a great character, great sense of humour and, and obviously was very connected to, to The Loft.
