Current Projects

CORK IN THE 1940s

Across 2023, our team will be exploring life in Cork City and County in the 1940s, through the memories we have recorded for our archive since our foundation in 1996. The project will result in a public exhibition and a series of public presentations. If you would like to offer your memories or tradition relating to any aspect of life in Cork, please email folklorearchive@gmail.com or ring 087 9160373

Community Oral History Outreach Officer – 2019 – 2022

From 2019 to 2022, CFP collaborated with the Cork North Community Work Department of the HSE on an exciting initiative, combining oral history research and documentation, with health based actions. The project was a tremendous success and sees a strengthening of the partnership between the two organisations, which previously resulted in ‘A Ministry of Healing’, an oral history of ‘The Orthopedic’.
