Under the leadership of the Cork Folklore Project, a range of engaging initiatives have been deveoped in recent years. Highlights include the Cork Listener’s Collective (funded by the Heritage Council Stewardship Progamme in 2025), our ongoing collaborations with the Cork North Community Department of the HSE and the CFP Headway Project 2025. In addition, our Thrift Memory Map and hugely successful Circular Tales, have celebrated sustainability and urban thrift through song, story, and community testimony, and immersive experiences.
CORK IN THE 1940s
Our team are continuing to explore life in Cork City and County in the 1940s, through the memories we have recorded for our archive since our foundation in 1996. The project will result in a public exhibition and a series of public presentations. If you would like to offer your memories or tradition relating to any aspect of life in Cork, please email manager@corkfolklore.org or ring 087 9160373
